Throughout the summer festival season, Music Bank has a competition running both on Facebook and Crewspace to win our latest swag including Music Bank-branded hoodies, and Jack Daniels.
All you have to do is send us a photo of yourself or a colleague on stage or backstage wearing a Music Bank t-shirt. Snap your pics while you're working a festival, on tour, or maybe just somewhere you wouldn't expect a Music Bank T-shirt to show up! The bigger the crowd in shot, or the most surprising location, the more chance you have of winning one of the big prizes. You can upload your photos to either Crewspace, Facebook or email them direct to us.
Keep your photos coming throughout July and August and, at the start of September, we'll start presenting the prizes!
Music Bank would like to invite you to one of two special open days we're running next month in conjunction with Optocore and Wigwam Acoustics.
On Monday 06 and Tuesday 07 September, Optocore will be at Music Bank along with staff from Wigwam to demonstrate and answer questions about their wide range of products, particularly the new OptoRack returns system which made its world début on Leona Lewis's recent Labyrinth tour.
Established in 1979, Wigwam is one of the World's leading sound companies for the hire, sales and installation of professional audio equipment. The new OptoRack system will allow data transfer of analogue and digital audio, DMX, video and ethernet signals over long distances using fibre technology.
If you would like to attend, please contact Emma Connelly at Wigwam Acoustics: 01706 363800, emma@wigwamhire.co.uk.
Phillip Oppenheim from Cubana talks about how we recently helped them turn a large corner of Glastonbury into a massive Cuban party. And Derya Nagle a/k/a Black Bear Productions, one of our Programming Suite residents, talks about the service we enable him to provide to his artist clients, including metallers Rise To Remain who recently won the Best New Band gong at Metal Hammer's Golden God Awards.
"I am very excited for this new move," says Dark Horse Percussion's owner Anthony Cartinella. "For years we were pretty much just relying on some of our overseas artists to 'help out' bands when they came over from the states. Even though they would mean well, tours are taxing and often rigorous on all, so now we have the most elite group taking care of this end of the business. We have the utmost confidence in Music Bank and are already getting booked up with tour rentals."
"This relationship is good for us, good for Music Bank, and definitely good for artists and bands."
Radial's SW8 auto-switcher has just been added to our ever-expanding backline inventory and is proving immensely popular.
Richard Young, production manager for the likes of Radiohead and Pink, calls it "instant and seamless... The SW8 has saved the show on more than one occasion."
As Radial themselves explain, "The SW8 auto-switcher provides redundant backup by automatically switching between two 8-channel sources, such as a pair of digital recorders. Designed primarily for live concerts and stage shows where backing tracks are used, the SW8 can detect a machine malfunction and automatically switch to a second backup machine to ensure a seamless performance."
